Never fully naked

With clothes she is invisible

With less clothing her identity is revealed

When she is naked

Her story is told

Each ink mark telling a story

You don’t even realize she has no clothing

Your eyes are drawn to each pattern or mark

She with no clothes has many layers of truth

  1. I like the idea that clothes hide us rather than reveal us… It’s a truth, the more we dress (in fashion) to be noticed, the more we fade into the crowd.

I love it, especially the last line, “She with no clothes has many layers of truth”.
    Bravo!

I like the feeling behind your words, sir. I have friends with lots of tats and sometimes they live 2 lives, hiding away what is underneath only for the right places. I have friends who show their tats bravely and love explaining them to people. But to me your poem says more than just clothing and tattoos, but is about who we all really are and how much more authentic and true we become when we can be brave and show it, no matter how naked and vulnerable. Just my thoughts from your words! Cheers!

I really like this poem, I like the imagery, I like the flow and the build up, and I like the unexpected ending which really hits you. This is a really well wrought poem.
