Unlike you I’ve given not received
And I know it won’t change
So here are the words
For you to receive
Scars don’t heal
My scars burn me everyday
It’s just a friendly reminder
Who started the cuts
That became ever lasting scars
You.

Concise and cutting words like a sharp knife.

  2. But you can heal the scars. You can forget.
    “Separation

Your absence has gone through me
    Like thread through a needle.
Everything I do is stitched with its color.” ― W.S. Merwin

This poem reminded me of one I wrote couple of years ago. It’s called Ghost Scars, in case you want to check it out.

    I hope you heal.
