Closed eyes
Soft to the touch
Covered in a blanket
Just a heartbeat for sound
A small bundle of life waiting for the morning to call it awake once again

Had the parents punished themselves?

A child, just one, biggest task of life

A hard, cruel work of art

A gritty deed that we do

The stars in the night sky shine brighter

The daytime sun shines brighter

Annoying relatives shine way brighter

And unknowns come out of the woodwork to help

I just wrote this stanza about five minutes ago, and for some reason I just really like it. I hope you like it too, enjoy! 🙂

Dad goes to work

Always feels guilty

Leaving wife alone with baby

But the paycheck reminds him

Growing up fast

He has a heart beat

You caught off guard new baby

That night is real now

Thank you crib

A white baby crib

The cribs arms holding baby

Crib let’s parents sleep

Twenty inches of touch
Seven pounds of crying
Twenty-three minutes old
Hundred years ahead
