Time to shred off the old skin

The storm passed

Clouds part

And there is a boy who is filled with life

He sees the future

He knows he’s got this

The mirror no longer stares at nobody

The mirror reflects a boy on a mission

The boy grabs the oars

Takes a step into the canoe

He takes off down the river with hope

All the worries

Become so many stories

Confusing at the front

Hope in the back

I lay down

And my heart is down

Adjusting to the new reality

When will I fully feel normal

For now I turn the pages

Looking for a page with words

Emptiness eats me alive

But it’s too cold to dig my grave

The days get colder

The days get shorter

Life gets longer

Life gets faster

School

Work

MyGirl

Birthday

Anniversary

Christmas

Sports

I think of all those events on the way

By the time I finish thinking

Sun is down and soon a new day to begin

That number or digit seems very old. I am back at college so that is good. Eventually I will have a degree. I have a fun part time job working with kids. I for once in my life have a girl friend. I am suppose to publish a book in a couple of weeks… that goal will fail. All in all life is on the upward, and hopefully this blog will be on the upward with some new poetry. Also FALL time is the best! School, lots of sports on TV to watch, and great weather.

You break the bottle without a drop of alcohol staining the carpet

Laughs, giggles, smirks, dumb sentence follows your lips

Blood flow increases, my eyes narrow, clinched, ready

An act of a lifetime starts, swooping down to steal my anger

And like always I look the other way

And the next morning when I wake up alone

I ask myself

What’s worse, the fact she breaks wine bottles without a drop,

Or the fact that she’s so far gone?

Either way my carpet isn’t getting destroyed, but I am

Whether I know it or not, slowly, each drop, each sip…

Drown Town

The rain patters against the window

The wind bringing new sounds to the old house

A lazy sigh echoes through the house

A slow leak in the bedroom roof starts

Footsteps approach the rainy bedroom

He sees a puddle on his bed

The cold wet puddle suffocates the quilt

The quilt she had made for them

Nothing mattered now

The house was old and breaking down to the core

She was told he lost the fire for her

The bed can drown, the house can drown

As the storm grew stronger

He contemplated if he could ever get his house back to normal

Shimmering blue water
White houses line the coast
Thatched umbrellas line the beach
Cats wander the streets
Dishes clink in kitchens
A soccer ball collects people to become friends
Mid-day heat encourages sleep
Blazing sun on cats sleeping fur
Greece at its best.
